TransLink employees will be marching in the 46th annual Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday, August 4 to celebrate and support the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and the Pride Society. The popular and uniquely designed PrideBus will also enter service today until the end of summer.
“We’re proud to participate once again in Vancouver’s Pride Parade and support the community,” says TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn. “We encourage everyone to ride with pride and take transit to and from the Pride Parade this Sunday.”
During last year’s Pride Parade, SkyTrain ridership to downtown almost doubled between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., compared to a normal Sunday. To ensure customers have safe and reliable transportation options, TransLink will increase Expo and Millennium Line service between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the Pride Parade on Sunday, August 4.
Due to street closures, some buses will be rerouted throughout downtown Vancouver. Customers should plan for extra travel time and sign up for Transit Alerts or call Customer Service at 604.953.3333 for information on changes to bus service.
Bus reroutes on Sunday, August 4:
2 MacDonald/Burrard (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
5 Robson/Downtown (6 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
6 Davie/Downtown (6 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
23 English Bay/Main Street Station (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
TransLink is a proud partner of the Pride Society and directly supports its important initiatives. Customers can purchase Pride-themed TransLink merchandise on the TransLink Store.
