KALAKAR JUNCTION FOUNDATION is a nonprofit socio-cultural organization based in Lower Mainland, formed to serve as a platform for promoting the understanding and appreciation of the richness and diversity of the art, culture and heritage of south Asian diaspora. Since its inception it has adhered to its commitment and receives the guidance of group of eminent leaders of different walks of life and scholars of Indian art and culture

Along with its media enterprise “VANCOUVER TODAY”, aim to play significant role in in bridging the community with current affairs, awareness, arts, culture and heritage through programs of excellence.

KJ aims at cultivating important alliance with distinguished performing art academies.

Plans are underway to producing short films and plays, to support the local talent and making the community aware of social issues through media coverage. In pursuit Kalakar Junction organized special screening of Punjabi film “ JAHANKILLA”, which is an inspiring story about first responders.

We hosted “Mape”-an event to celebrate state of parenthood, in which people from many walks of life participated to make it resounding successful event.

From time to time, the organization comes up with quality musical evenings “Baithak”, where established and budding artists showcase their talent and share with fellow artists and musicians of Indian Diaspora.

Participated in “Namaste Canada 2024”, which is organized by Consulate General of India, to display diversity of different dance forms of India. Kalakar junction represented state of Punjab through a “Gidda” portraying the vibrance of Punjab and celebrating marriage along with many festivals like Lohri, Vaisakhi, Teeyan. The forthcoming projects include helping talented new immigrants and international students, find a foothold by promoting their talent through conducting workshops for those individuals who wish to fine tune their art form, under expert tips and guidance from established artists. Being a Socio-cultural organization. Also, we propose to organize fund raising for deserving individuals.

Besides this as community partners Kalakar Juntion keeps on supporting and promoting other Art and Culture fellow organizations. Since we believe in our tagline “Together We Have, Together We Shall.”

As community partners, have partnered with organizations like The Gift of sight- “Joy of Giving” and Mental Health through organizational, marketing and cultural support. This is an effort to give back to the community.
