The Conservative Party of Surrey (Conservative Electors Association) is proud to officially announce Honveer Randhawa as the Conservative candidate for Mayor of Surrey in the upcoming municipal election.
A respected community leader, experienced lawyer, and founder of the Randhawa Law Centre, Honveer Randhawa is committed to delivering real results for Surrey families. His campaign will focus on core priorities: Safer Streets, Lower Taxes, and putting Families First.
“Surrey deserves new leadership that puts families first,” said Honveer Randhawa. “Over the past few years, taxes have gone up, violent crime and extortion has spiraled out of control, road planning hasn’t kept up resulting in congestion getting worse, and drug den housing is being pushed into neighborhoods across our city. Currently life in Surrey has gotten worse, and people want common sense change at Surrey City Hall.”
“As a lawyer, community leader, and long time conservative, I am ready to bring that same dedication and proven community focus to City Hall.”
“It is time for change in Surrey, and only a Conservative Mayor and Council can deliver real change. As Mayor, I will stop the extortion by supporting and fully funding law enforcement, I will make our neighbourhoods safer by shutting down drug dens, and I will put families first through affordable, world class rec centres, and development for families, including new families looking to buy their first home, and seniors looking to retire in dignity near or with their children and grandchildren.”
Randhawa stated that: “As mayor, I will establish Surrey Home Protection Fund to compensate damages for verified RTB judgements which are deemed unrecoverable, as I strongly believe that Surrey home owners and good tenants should not be penalized for property damages caused by bad tenants.”
“I will establish a parent-citizens committee to work with City of Surrey public library officials and Surrey School Board officials to review age-appropriate materials, strengthen transparency, and get SOGI materials out of Surrey classrooms. Parents deserve full transparency and they have a right to know what’s going on in Surrey’s schools and libraries,” said Randhawa.
Randhawa committed that, if elected as the next Mayor of Surrey, he will immediately instruct City staff to file a motion applying for intervenor status in the appeal of the British Columbia Supreme Court decision in Cowichan Tribes and others v. Canada (Attorney General), 2025 BCSC 1490. In that decision, the Court declared that the Cowichan Tribes hold Aboriginal title to approximately 750 acres of land in Richmond, B.C.
“Private property rights are the bedrock of our society, our economy, and individual freedom in Surrey and across British Columbia,” said Randhawa. “If elected as the next Mayor, I will direct the City of Surrey to focus our intervenor filing squarely on emphasizing to the courts the critical importance of protecting private property rights and the certainty of land titles for homeowners, businesses, and future generations.” If granted, intervenor status would allow the City to participate in the appeal by providing a unique municipal perspective with a strong emphasis on safeguarding the rights of private property owners.
