Niagara Falls, Ontario – In a momentous occasion, Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan (DSNDP), a non-profit organization, has been recognized with the 2024 Civic Pride Award for their
exceptional social contributions. The award, presented by the Niagara Falls Recreation Committee, acknowledges the remarkable humanitarian initiatives of DSNDP, which are deeply rooted in the visionary leadership of founders Dr. Shri Appasaheb Dharmadhikari and Dr. Shri Sachindada Dharmadhikari.

The Civic Pride Award is given to individuals and organizations who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to enhancing the community, improving the local environment, and enriching the lives of
Niagara Falls residents. This prestigious honor is one of the nine special awards presented annually during the City’s Volunteer Recognition Ceremony.

Attended by Niagara Falls City Mayor Jim Diodati, the award was graciously accepted by DSNDP volunteers on behalf of the organization. During the ceremony, a representative of the Recreation
Committee stated, “These are the unsung heroes who take pride in our community. Their actions show how even the smallest contributions can have a lasting impact, proving that one individual or group can truly make a difference.” Reflecting on the achievement, a DSNDP volunteer shared, “We are deeply humbled to receive this recognition. It serves as a powerful source of inspiration and strengthens our resolve to continue serving the community. The guidance of Dr. Shri Appasaheb Dharmadhikari and Dr. Shri Sachindada Dharmadhikari has empowered us to prioritize the well-being of the community in everything we do.”

The ceremony also saw the presence of Niagara Falls City Council members Mona Patel, Victor Pietrangelo, and Mike Strange, who praised the selfless dedication of DSNDP volunteers. Celebrating
the organization’s accomplishments, esteemed politicians, including Wayne Gates, MPP, and Tony Badinelli, Member of Parliament for Niagara Falls, offered their sincere gratitude and presented the organization with a certificate of appreciation.

Founded in Maharashtra, India, DSNDP honors the legacy of Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari, a renowned social reformer committed to uplifting communities. The organization has made a tremendous impact, planting over 3.67 million trees, eliminating 275 million pounds of waste, and removing 32 million pounds of debris from dams and rivers in India. Under the guidance of its founders, DSNDP has expanded to 23 countries, inspiring 7 million supporters globally. In Canada, DSNDP has mobilized more than 500 volunteers, collecting 12,150 pounds of waste, planting over 300 trees, and hosting continual plasma donation drives with over 150 donor registrations over the past three years. In the United States, the organization has led initiatives across 19 states and 107 cities, collecting 40,590 pounds of waste and planting over 20,000 trees, which has resulted in significant cost savings for the government.
