Surrey, BC – April 21, 2025 — The Society of Punjabi Engineers and Technologists of British Columbia (SPEATBC) proudly marked this year’s Vaisakhi celebrations by actively participating in both the Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade on April 12 and the Surrey Nagar Kirtan on April 19, 2025.
At both events, SPEATBC President Daljot Singh (ਦਲਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ) led from the front—welcoming guests and sharing the organization’s vision. His presence set a tone of inspiration, inclusivity, and forward-thinking community engagement.
In Vancouver, the SPEATBC booth transformed into a lively space for inspiration and outreach. It was hosted by a dynamic team including Shailza Sapal, Avneet Sidhu, Raj Mundra, Jessie Hundal, and Harv Hundal, who shared insights on careers in engineering and technology with families, students, and professionals. The conversations were thoughtful, the energy was vibrant, and the response from the community was overwhelmingly positive.
The behind-the-scenes success of both events would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of Birender Pal Singh, Simranjit Singh, Hartej Singh, Jaspuneet Sanghera, Ruchika Sandhu, Talwinder K., Harpreet Sandhu, Bobby Chahal, Arjun Banga, and Ramneek Kumar. From logistics and setup to digital outreach and community coordination, this team ensured a seamless and impactful presence across both parades.
The celebrations continued at the Surrey Nagar Kirtan, one of the largest Vaisakhi festivals in the world. SPEATBC was proud to take part once again, bringing together cultural celebration and community service. Volunteers actively contributed to seva initiatives, including a well-organized post-event cleanup drive, reflecting the organization’s commitment to giving back.
A special thank you goes out to our generous sponsors whose support made this all possible:
Right Link Immigration – for sponsoring custom SPEATBC jackets that kept our volunteer team visible, united, and proud.
YAAT Concrete Ltd. – for their unwavering support in helping us amplify our outreach and community engagement.
Destinationone Consulting – for backing our vision of mentorship, professional development, and cultural connection.
One unforgettable moment in Surrey came with the visit from a 4-month-old service dog in-training from the UBC Campus, part of the BC & Alberta Guide Dogs program. It served as a beautiful reminder of the values of compassion, service, and inclusion that SPEATBC upholds.
As always, SPEATBC remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Punjabi engineers, technologists, and innovators through mentorship, education, and community connection—while celebrating the vibrant heritage that shapes our identity.
