SPEATBC Hosts Successful 31st Annual General Meeting and Welcomes New Executive Team

Surrey, BC (Daljot Singh) – March 26, 2025 – The Society of Punjabi Engineers and Technologists of British Columbia (SPEATBC) held its 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at City Centre Library on Sunday, March 9, 2025. The meeting was attended by past presidents, sponsors, and members of the engineering and technology community.

The AGM was chaired by outgoing president Ramneek Singh Kumar, who presented a comprehensive year-in-review, highlighting key achievements, including successful events such as the Surrey Nagar Kirtan engagement, Mix N Mingle networking sessions, SPEATTalks, industry seminars, and an expanded scholarship program. The outgoing treasurer also presented a financial review of the past year.

A key highlight of the meeting was the passing of a motion to form a special committee tasked with reviewing and modernizing SPEATBC’s constitution to ensure it aligns with the organization’s evolving goals.

As the term of the previous executive team came to an end, a new leadership team was elected for the upcoming year. The newly appointed executive team will be led by the new president Daljot Singh.

Other executive portfolios were also assigned to newly appointed executive directors, and many new directors-at-large joined the leadership team, bringing fresh perspectives to SPEATBC’s mission of fostering professional growth, mentorship, and community engagement.

The team aims to build upon past successes and implement new initiatives, including the formalization of memberships, expanded mentorship programs, and greater industry engagement.

SPEATBC remains committed to supporting engineers, technologists, and students through networking, professional development, and community involvement. The organization thanks all outgoing members for their dedication and welcomes the new team as they embark on another promising year.
