The Sundar Prize Film Festival is preparing for its 4th annual festival in 2027, and we’re looking for introductions to journalists, arts and culture reporters, entertainment writers, film critics, podcasters, or producers from respected national, or international media outlets who may be interested in covering our remarkable journey.
In just a few years, the Sundar Prize has grown from a bold vision into one of Canada’s fastest-growing social impact film festivals.

823 film submissions from around the world in 2026.
Only 63 films were officially selected—an acceptance rate of under 8%, reflecting the high quality of our programming.
Recognition as an IMDb-qualifying film festival, and member of Film Festival Alliance.
More than 1,800 audience members over four days have attended the festival.
Films and filmmakers representing dozens of countries and communities.
In 2026, 79% of selected films were Canadian, 66% were made in British Columbia, 52% were directed by women, and 73% were created by filmmakers from underrepresented communities, including Indigenous, BIPOC, and 2SLGBTQ+ creators.
Over $50,000+ in cash prizes and industry support is available to filmmakers, helping emerging voices thrive.
