Lights of India Festival 2026 Draws Thousands to Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium

The two-day celebration featured more than 300 artists and performers, cultural experiences, food and marketplaces, a stadium laser show, and fireworks

BURNABY, BC—October 7, 2026—Lights of India Festival 2026 brought thousands of people together at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby on October 3 and 4 for a vibrant two-day celebration of Indian culture, music, dance, food, entertainment, and community.

Organized by Inspire Event Company, the festival recorded more than 20,000 registrations, reflecting strong community interest in the inaugural celebration.

Throughout the weekend, Swangard Stadium was transformed into a multicultural festival destination, welcoming families, community members, and visitors from across Metro Vancouver and beyond.

More than 300 artists and performers took part in the festival, showcasing a diverse range of cultural traditions and artistic talent through dance, music, and live performances.

Beyond the main stage, attendees explored an extensive festival experience featuring Indian food vendors, shopping, and local businesses across the Festival Marketplace, Premium Marketplace, Corporate Avenue, Experience Plaza, and Kids Plaza, along with community and brand activations throughout the venue.

One of the signature attractions of the weekend was a spectacular 15-minute stadium laser show, sponsored by Undo Fundo, bringing together light, music, and technology inside Swangard Stadium.

The celebrations also featured a spectacular 15-minute stadium fireworks show, illuminating the Burnaby sky and creating another memorable moment for festival attendees.

Lights of India Festival was founded by Yash Kariya, founder of Inspire Event Company, from a personal vision of creating a large-scale celebration where people could experience the joy, energy, and sense of belonging associated with Indian festivals.

“Lights of India began as a dream many years ago—a dream to create a festival where nobody would have to celebrate alone and where people from every background could come together to experience the colors, traditions, and spirit of India,” said Kariya. “Seeing thousands of people come together at Swangard Stadium and watching that vision become a reality was incredibly meaningful.”

The festival was brought to life under Kariya’s leadership alongside team members Akshita Rai, Sneha Doshi, Yashika Chawla, Shubham Trivedi, Vanya Pruthi, Varshita Raguvani, Gitish Singla, Gaurav Shah, Vibhooti Vaishnav, Tushar Vaishnav, Priyansh Shah, and Amritpal Dhot, whose collective efforts supported the planning and delivery of the two-day event.

Inspire Event Company extends its heartfelt gratitude to the artists, performers, vendors, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, contractors, production and safety teams, and community members whose contributions helped make Lights of India Festival 2026 possible.

The festival was envisioned not only as a celebration of Indian heritage but also as a platform for local artists, businesses, cultural organizations, and community groups to connect with a wider audience while celebrating the diversity of British Columbia.

Following the strong response to its inaugural edition, Inspire Event Company looks forward to building on the foundation established by the Lights of India Festival 2026 and creating more memorable cultural experiences that celebrate Indian heritage, strengthen community connections, and bring people together.
