MLAs Garry Begg and Jessie Sunner Host Successful Community BBQs in Surrey

August was a month of community celebration in Surrey, as local MLAs Garry Begg (Surrey-Guildford) and Jessie Sunner (Surrey-Newton) hosted their annual community BBQs, bringing residents together for food, fun, and connection.

MLA Garry Begg welcomed hundreds of constituents to Erma Stephenson Park on August 16 for his well-loved community BBQ. The event was highlighted by a special moment, as the Surrey Police Service honored MLA Begg for his lifelong commitment to community service, recognizing his decades of dedication to public safety and civic engagement.

Just a week later, MLA Jessie Sunner hosted her first community BBQ on August 24 at Unwin Park, marking an exciting milestone in her new role as MLA for Surrey-Newton. The event saw strong attendance from local residents, community organizations, and unions who came out in full support to celebrate with MLA Sunner and her team.

Both events underscored the importance of community connection and reflected the strong spirit of collaboration that continues to thrive across Surrey’s neighborhoods.
