Tamara Jansen Appointed Shadow Minister for Pacific Economic Development

Ottawa, ON — Tamara Jansen, Member of Parliament for Cloverdale—Langley City, issued the following statement after being appointed Shadow Minister for Pacific Economic Development by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.

“I am humbled by the confidence Pierre Poilievre has placed in me to serve as Shadow Minister for Pacific Economic Development.

Our Leader has made our mission clear: fight for affordability. That means creating the right conditions for businesses to invest, innovate, grow, and create good-paying jobs.

British Columbia has tremendous potential. We are home to world-class entrepreneurs, abundant natural resources, thriving small businesses, and direct access to the fastest-growing markets in the Indo-Pacific. My focus will be on strengthening competitiveness, boosting productivity, expanding trade, and removing the barriers that hold Canadians back.

In the months ahead, I will meet with farmers, foresters, miners, fishers, manufacturers, technology leaders, Indigenous partners, and small businesses across British Columbia to hear directly from those who power our economy.

When businesses succeed, Canadians benefit through stronger paycheques, increased investment, and a more affordable future. I look forward to working with my Conservative colleagues to strengthen Western Canada’s role as a gateway to the Indo-Pacific and to help build a more prosperous Canada for all.”
