South Surrey, BC — The third annual Empower Her CommuniTEA brought together an inspiring group of women from across the Lower Mainland for an afternoon dedicated to authentic conversation, meaningful connection, and community impact.
Co-founded by Shannon Mann, Manjot Mann, and Jas Hundal, Empower Her CommuniTEA was created with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide a welcoming space where women can connect, learn from one another, and leave feeling inspired to embrace their authentic selves.
This year’s event welcomed guests for an afternoon of thoughtful discussions centered around leadership, resilience, vulnerability, and personal growth. Together, attendees raised $1,039 in support of the Guru Nanak Free Kitchen, helping provide meals and support to those experiencing food insecurity in the community.
“Our vision has always been to create more than an event,” said Shannon Mann. “We wanted to create a community where women feel seen, supported, and empowered to share their stories. The openness and generosity we witnessed throughout the afternoon reminded us that genuine connection has the power to create lasting change.”
The afternoon featured an exceptional lineup of speakers whose personal stories resonated deeply with attendees.
Leadership executive Hermina Khara shared insights on courageous leadership and leading with authenticity.
Podcast host and speaker Jayna Marie spoke candidly about resilience, embracing failure, and navigating life’s unexpected challenges with courage and grace.
Co-founder Shannon Mann reflected on the importance of purpose, community, and showing up authentically in both business and life.
Following the event, Jayna Marie released a special podcast episode inspired by the conversations from Empower Her CommuniTEA, continuing the dialogue around resilience, self-belief, overcoming perfectionism, and finding the courage to move forward despite self-doubt.
The organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the community partners and sponsors whose generosity made the event possible, including Golden Tree Jewellers, Yorkson Optical, Kahaani, Amaare Photography, Antara Journal, Nature’s Tallow, and Get Styled by Elizabeth.
“Our community partners believed in this vision from the beginning,” said the organizers. “Their support allowed us to create an experience that not only inspired meaningful conversations but also made a tangible impact through charitable giving.”
Since its inception, Empower Her CommuniTEA has continued to grow into a meaningful community initiative focused on empowering women through education, connection, mentorship, and service. The organizers remain committed to creating future events that strengthen relationships, foster authentic dialogue, and encourage women to support one another personally and professionally.
