COQUITLAM, B.C. – Thousands of residents and visitors gathered at Town Centre Park on August 15 in Coquitlam for the fifth annual BC Dumpling Festival, a vibrant celebration of multiculturalism, cultural heritage and community connection.
Anne Kang, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, joined local MLAs Jodie Wickens (Coquitlam-Burke Mountain), Jennifer Blatherwick (Coquitlam-Maillardville) and Rick Glumac (Port Moody-Burquitlam) at the festival, which brought together families, community organizations, performers and local businesses from across the region.
Hosted by the Asian Arts & Culture Society, the BC Dumpling Festival has become one of Metro Vancouver’s premier multicultural events, showcasing cultural traditions through food, music, dance and community engagement. The family-friendly festival featured dumplings representing a variety of cultures, along with live performances, cultural exhibits, artisan vendors and activities for all ages.
The festival highlights the important role that cultural celebrations play in fostering understanding, strengthening community connections and celebrating the diversity that makes British Columbia stronger.
Established to promote multiculturalism and bring communities together through arts, culture and food, the BC Dumpling Festival has continued to grow since its inception, attracting thousands of participants from throughout Metro Vancouver and beyond.
