MLA Sunita Dhir – Vancouver Langara Celebrated Community Spirit on B.C. Day

VANCOUVER – Punjabi Market Plaza came alive with culture, connection and community as MLA Sunita Dhir hosted her 2nd Annual B.C. Day Celebration, bringing together families, seniors, youth and local organizations for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

The celebration featured entertainment, refreshments, prize draws and community information booths, reflecting the vibrant diversity that makes British Columbia—and Vancouver–Langara in particular—such a special place to call home.

MLA Dhir extended her sincere gratitude to Speaker Raj Chouhan for attending the event and thanked the many organizations whose partnership helped make the celebration a success, including Marpole Neighbourhood House, Langara College, South Vancouver Community Policing Centre, Kerrisdale Community Policing Centre, Fairleigh Dickinson University–Oakridge, Sunset Community Association, Khalsa Diwan Society, Khalsa Darbar Society, Sunset Indo-Canadian Seniors, along with community leaders and dedicated volunteers.

“Seeing people of all ages and backgrounds come together to celebrate B.C. Day is truly heartwarming,” said Dhir. “Our strength lies in our diversity, and events like this remind us that when communities work together, everyone benefits.”

The annual celebration continues to grow as a cherished tradition, fostering stronger community ties while celebrating British Columbia’s multicultural spirit.
